Can Obama/Biden repeat?
Can Barack Obama and Joe Biden hold on to their jobs for another four years? Will Sarah Palin re-emerge as a leading Republican candidate? These issues and more will be examined at our website.
Potential Presidential Candidates for 2012:
- Barack Obama. The current President isn't going to lose his position without a fight. Since he is an incumbent candidate, there is a good chance that he'll lead as the top Democratic candidate. Recent wins such as locating and defeating Osama Bin Laden and an improving economy could help sway the vote, but a lot of time still remains between now and election day. It goes without saying that big issues facing President Obama are improving the job market and reigniting the economy and either of these factors can define whether or not he'll win. "If the economy is still in bad shape in the spring of 2012, that really spells problems for the president because this election will be fought over whether the economy has recovered or not," said Andy Smith, who is a political science professor at the University of New Hampshire.
- Sarah Palin. In 2008, Sarah Palin was a little known governor of a small state. She made her debut in the National Political scene by running for Vice President with John McCain. Now, she's a towering figure on the national political scene, but not in the way many would have expected. Sarah Palin has voiced her opinions and beliefs using traditional media and social media outlets, and hasn't always made people happy with what she's had to say. In addition to her commentaries, Sarah Palin has written a book and starred in a short lived reality series called Sarah Palin's Alaska. With such a diverse background, it's hard to figure if she'll change her mind as the next Presidental election moves closer.
- Ron Paul. Ron Paul has made his bid for President unsuccessfully in 2008. As 2012 draws near, Paul is repositioning himself as a potential Republican candidate. Paul is known for his ideas about reforming government and fiscal responsibility, but to date these ideas haven't been enough to get him elected.
